Martha’s work is based on a fundamental belief that Ikat is a handmade craft with unique features that are worth preserving and being made more accessible to the international market.

Indonesia takes pride in its traditional fabrics and with this kind of varied exposure it is guaranteed to reach an elevated stature not only in the country but also worldwide.

Koleksi terbaru Martha Ellen, desainer asal London yang jatuh cinta pada kain ikat Indonesia.

Desainer kelahiran London, Martha Ellen meluncurkan koleksi musim semi 2015 yang berbahan dasar tenun ikat karya para pengrajin lokalIndonesia. Martha jatuh hati pada ragam warna dari kain asli Indonesia, Ia memutuskan untuk fokus membuat
label pakaian siap pakai yang mengkombinasikan karakter desainnya yang modern dengan kain ikat buatan tangan yang tradisional. Martha Ellen merancang sendiri motif dan warna tenunan, ia bekerja sama dengan sekelompok pengrajin di Bali yang menenun tiap helai benang secara konvesional. Ketebalan kain dibuat lebih tipis agar nyaman dikenakan sehari-hari di iklim tropis Indonesia.
